John Moore was born and raised in Pensacola, Florida. He joined the Army in 1987 and served in Virginia, Germany and Texas. In 1998 Joined the Texas Army National Guard where he would continue his active service until retiring.
In 2001 he married the former Lorena Loera and joined the church New Life Austin, where he served as Discipleship instructor from 2004 – 2008. In 2008, after being licensed to minister by the UPCI, he was elected Assistant Pastor of Calvary Pentecostal Church in Fredericksburg, Texas that same year. Shortly after, he was Deployed in Support of Operation Iraqi Freedom from late 2009 – 2010. Upon returning to the United States, he resumed duties as Assistant Pastor of Calvary Pentecostal Church in Fredericksburg, Texas until 2013. Adding to his Liberal Studies Bachelor’s degree from Excelsior College, he decided to pursue further education through Liberty University, where he graduated with a Master of Arts in Theological Studies in 2015. He went on to retire from active military service in 2015 after 28 years of total military service, during which he received the Bronze Star, the Meritorious Service Medal (1OLC), the Army Commendation Medal (1 OLC), the Army Achievement Medal (3 OLC), the Good Conduct Medal (4th Award), the Operation Iraqi Freedom Campaign Medal (with bronze star device), and the National Defense Medal (with bronze star device). He moved back to Austin, Texas in 2015 where he has worked in Hyphen, Youth and Singles Ministries to present and went on to graduate from Auburn University with a Master of Education, specializing in Adult Education and Training in 2017. He is currently a contributing writer for the adult Sunday school division of Word Aflame Publishing and an Instructor for Purpose Institute. He has been married for over 15 years and is the father of three sons: Tyler, Jacob, and Daniel. |
