COURSE DESCRIPTION This survey course explores the development of the understanding of organizations and of the decision-making skills required in management positions. The purpose is to examine how management concepts have developed and continue to change. A detailed examination will be conducted of the four basic functions of management: planning, organizing, motivating, and controlling. Particular emphasis will be given to goal planning, managing change, career progression, and managerial value systems.
